ALLENTOWN PA; August 9, 1999 - BALAZS INC., authorized retailer of Everlast boxing equipment, imposed a cease and desist order on an online competitor, Lowbuck Fitness Equipment. Lowbuck Fitness wantonly copied and downloaded material from BALAZS INC.'S web site, including photographs of boxing equipment, accessories, and clothing along with associated texts. The unlawful act was so blatant that even a typo found in BALAZS' site appeared in the same place on Lowbuck's site!

To protect its investment in photography, copy and online craftsmanship, BALAZS warned that severe copyright infringement litigation would ensue, pursuant to the Digital Millennium Copyright Act, if Lowbuck did not remove the copied material from its web site. Subsequently, Lowbuck Fitness Equipment eliminated its entire site, www.lowbuckfitness.com, from the Internet.
